We recognise that many individuals and groups face barriers to accessing Higher Education and we are committed to promoting fair access. Whilst we don’t make contextual offers (a reduced points or grades offer based on personal circumstances), we do offer a variety of fairer access opportunities and support, as outlined below. Further information about ‘contextual admissions’ is available from UCAS.

Headstart

Eligible students interested in applying to study at University of Huddersfield, can gain an extra 8 UCAS points (equivalent of one grade) via our fairer access scheme, Headstart Huddersfield.

Points from other schemes

We also accept 12 UCAS points from The Progression Module, or up to 8 UCAS points from any official access scheme offering UCAS points to applicants, operated by a UK Higher Education institution. Please note that points from different schemes cannot be combined. For more details you can view our minimum entry requirements and terms and conditions on the How to apply section of our website.

Support for Care experienced students

The University is committed to ensuring that as a care experienced student you get all the support you need at each stage of your journey from pre application right through to graduation. As such we are part of the Go Higher West Yorkshire’s (GHWY) collaborative Care Leaver Covenant.

To support you through your journey, we encourage you to make contact with our designated member of staff to discuss specific entry requirements and to arrange tailored visits and interviews.
