Our Applicant Visit Days are the best way to find out everything about studying your chosen course at the University of Huddersfield.

Our Applicant Visit Days are taking place between February and April 2025. Look out for your personalised email and link to book onto one of our events.

These events are only open to applicants and each subject puts on a tailor-made programme to give you the best opportunity to explore, question and confirm your course choice with us.

What to expect on the day

Our Applicant Visit Days typically start between 9.00 and 10.30am and run through to 1.30pm depending on what activities you choose to take part in.

Subject activites starting at 10.30am

  • Meet your academic team and hear more about your course with future classmates
  • Take part in activities related to your course
  • Chat with current students about their studies and get a feel for what student life in Huddersfield is like
  • Explore course related facilities

Optional campus activities starting at 9.00am

  • Take a campus tour
  • Explore your accommodation options
  • Chat to our support services

Our Applicant Visit Days are designed to give you a taste of what studying with us will be like. We’ll provide a detailed programme for the day when you arrive on campus.

You are welcome to attend with your parent/guardian.

*Our contribution towards travel cost

After the Open Day, you can claim up to £75 towards your journey between your home address and the University of Huddersfield, if you attend (make sure you check in on the day so that we know that you attended). The below table provides details of the contributions we will make:

70 - 149 miles £40.00
150 or more miles £75.00


Claiming your reimbursement

Claiming your travel contribution is simply. After your visit to campus, you will receive an email from Aspire at Huddersfield. This will include instructions and a link to their online portal so that you can claim your travel contribution. Please allow up to five working days after your visit to campus to receive your email from Aspire at Huddersfield.
